Division by zero is actually possible!
Thing is we do have math with x already, which is called Algebra, and with zeros so honestly it was a moot point. Sorry but your argument holds no water and you would be failed on a math test in any level if you were to try and argue that statement. I can tell you are no math teacher and you should go study up on how it works instead of saying you don't want to discuss it further.

6/0=6. My whole point was is that, "6/0=" = "6". That's why you can't divide by zero because you basically you DON'T DO ANYTHING.Freyja wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 6:05 amThing is we do have math with x already, which is called Algebra, and with zeros so honestly it was a moot point. Which means 6/0= is undefined. Yes this topic is unnecessary. I just thought somebody would realize it. Which did not happen unfortunately for ya. I'm not the one dumb here.
It doesnt equal six though, it doesnt equal anything. You do do something, a something that is impossible. So no, there is no realization. There is no "hidden math", it does not exist and never will which is why it is undefined. If it did, a calculator would spit it back out at us as 6. 6/1=6, not 6/0. You need to go back to the basics it seems for math because you don't understand how it works from the looks of it.
I am glad you are fighting this case, Peacekeeper. Infact, anything divided by zero makes it having been undivided. However, in math this cannot be understood or translated. Which is, ultimately, the key to the universe. Math is math. Math is not logic.
A math genius can never find the formula E=MC^2. That is all physics. Math just isn't physics. It takes someone who studies the universe to find it. You should ask Einstein why he chose to call the force in the universe, Joules. That is because the number is undefined until somebody decides to coin it.

Well I kinda rushed the title. Of course you can't divide by zero. You're left with the number you prepared to divide by zero. Which means, 7/0 is actually 7. And 0/7 is 0.glrecom wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 4:05 amI am glad you are fighting this case, Peacekeeper. Infact, anything divided by zero makes it having been undivided. It's just my problem solving skill. But I'm sure in this way or another it has been mentioned before. I don't take the credit for this topic. It's too simple.
Atcero is right of course. Math has its own rules, apart from common language. The reason 6/0 is infinity according to the rules of math is simple. As the denominator becomes smaller the answer (quotient) becomes larger. 6/1= 6; 6/0.001=6000 (you are dividing 6 into 1000 equal pieces). Now imagine dividing 6 by 0.00(a million more zeros)01. You would have a really really large number. Take this to it's logical conclusion and 6/0 becomes infinity.
