I cannot be the only person here who feels this way....(much needed venting)

Ok I'm new to this site in general, I've been here 3 months and overall I love it. But ever since I started REALLY reading here (pics and official readings), I'm finding out just how ungrateful people can be for readings. I'd like to make it clear right here and now that this is not directed at any particular person, this is a general statement that I need to get off my chest and I feel I won't be the only one who has this problem.

I don't give readings for the fun of it, I don't give readings because I'm bored...I give readings because I get drawn to people and I feel what they're going through and I feel it's my duty to shed a little light in their darkness...and it's really not too much to ask for some decent feedback...

People who don't read here seem to think that we are just some psychic menu you can just pick and choose from and when you don't get immediate gratification you just move on to someone else. I'm sorry but if you request a reading from someone here and they agree to read for you the respectful thing to do is to wait for them to read you and actually be available to be read! We do readings in the chatroom, therefore if you wish to have a reading done by the person you requested from, you won't have much luck if you're waiting around in the forums. I know some readers do forum readings but I personally do mine in D&P and when someone requests from me and then I never see them again I get a little aggravated.

Being a new reader is hard enough...I'm still developing my gifts. When I give someone a reading (or when anyone gives a reading IMO) it is common sense and common courtesy to give the reader feedback. And I don't just mean one line like "you were spot on" or "you were way off". We give our time, energy and spiritual guidance for you, the least you could do is take the TIME to give us decent feedback....

And as for feedback on picture readings on the forums, what is with people saying they don't want to give too much away? When someone reads your picture it is the polite thing to give feedback to what they said. That doesn't necessarily mean you are "giving too much away", you are simply confirming what they tell you...

In conclusion I'd like to just say I love reading, it's what I could see myself doing for my future, but I cannot grow as a reader if I get no feedback...
/end rant

I do readings for family and friends but not yet on here, I haven't worked up the courage to start that journey yet. I am sorry you encounter people like that. I haven't read your bio yet but maybe you could make it clear in there what you want. Do you set up a time to meet these people in chat? You could also only offer readings to more seasoned members who you know are serious about this. I hate that people can be inconsiderate and you are encountering so many self centered people. It is a scarey thing to put yourself out there like you do to help and you should be commended. I wish you luck and hope things get better for you and hopefully one day I can find the courage to be more like you and try to start doing public readings myself.

It would probably make finding people easier if I set up times  Grin but because of so many time differences and my poor memory, I don't like sticking to strict schedules. I'm really not hard to find in chat, I've gone practically every day all day for 3 months  Smiley
And limiting myself to only seasoned members puts me in a position where I'd do less readings I think, and honestly alot of the more respectful older members intimidate me to the point I'm unable to read them accurately  Smiley and I mean that with SO much love  Roll Eyes  Smiley
Also I do say in my bio I do all my readings in chat and around here feedback is just common knowledge, plus I'm pretty sure my page says bio/feedback page  Huh
Thank you for responding to this, I wasn't expecting such kindness towards this  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Gracie,
I am so glad you posted this.  I have been wanting a reading, but I am almost never available in the evenings for chat.  Now I know not to ask unless I know I will be off of work so I can wait in chat for a reading.  Thanks for posting.
I do agree that it's rather rude to take the information given from a reading and not provide feedback; however, most people who you do readings for probably are not that serious about getting a reading.  Don't judge them too harshly as I think most people are just that way (the feel they are entitled because it's free).  Rest assured that if anyone does a reading for me, they will probably get back more questions and feedback than they really ever wanted  Cheesy
I do hope this hasn't soured you on trying to help people with your gift.  Just keep in mind that there are and always will be people who truly appreciate it. Smiley
