I think it is a bad idea. You don't know who you are talking to. You should know what kind of spirit you will be talking to so you will not be unpleasantly surprised should that spirit decide to further interact with you in real life.

Oh, I have to try this because when I clicked on the demonstration video my phone rang and startled me! It was a random telemarketer computer, so I will take that as a technological sign to try contacting Spirit in this way.

It looks like the Skype connection picks up random sounds from other Skype conversations and it is up to you to interpret them.

I will come back if there is anything to report.

Here I go!

edited to add I got no answer after trying for 15 minutes...  Huh

From what I've seen, it appears like it just screams noise at you when it detects audio.
