I hope you are, because it is a real threat. With a ballooning disconnectedness on environmental issues exacerbated by the unhelpful and unnecessary division of laws based upon geography and divided even further by businesses putting their own interests above our ability to live life in a healthful environment if, in the future, any at all. Today, I witnessed the worst smog in my area that I can recall and it is not even 90 degrees yet. Smog is expanding beyond being just an urban phenomenon and climate change and resource exhaustion are threatening the very habitability of this planet and our ability just to live even if it remains habitable but not sustainable.

We are facing an epidemic and this is not anywhere near the first one. Manmade epidemics are the result of division through self-interested behavior and disconnectedness by cutting oneself off from a full range of experiences and experiencing only by preferred choice. We are all connected. Division creates disconnectedness which endangers the fulfillment of our need to work constructively together. Without constructive progress through cooperation, we cannot solve world problems and we are doomed just because that is how divisions like nations insist for it to be.

I have an exercise for you on disconnectedness. Find any behavior of yours that is common or a habit. Find one positive thing about it in the spiritual sense and one negative thing about it in the spiritual sense. Challenge yourselves to change those behaviors that have falsely earned benefit in the spiritual sense and are sincerely harmful to someone else or some other important interest in a spiritual sense.

In the end, we have to be united to survive. By the time people figure that out, however, I think it will be too late.
