First of all, I identify as a Christian and probably will remain that way unless another area of faith feels right to me. I do not follow everything exactly and I do have different views than quite a few Christians though I guess that would make me spiritual but I'm still with the religion. Ever since my great aunt who is a reverend moved back to my hometown, I'm really starting to question some things more, obviously not to her or any of my family though.
One of those things is about the angel called Lucifer. According to the Bible, he was casted down from heaven due to him being caught up in his pride. Ever since, he has supposedly been tormenting us and my aunt keeps saying that he attacks people including her. Most Christians either try to forget that he even exists or is defeated or they feel that he attacks people and needs to be stopped. Even people such as psychics who are of different religions or who are just spiritual try to ignore Lucifer or thinks that he is really evil and to avoid him.
For some strange reason, I feel something about those statements aren't right. I was thinking that Lucifer may not be as bad as people have been saying. That is why when the one psychic on another site mentioned that he is a satanist, I ended up exploring it. However, I did not feel right when I viewed the websites and talking to the people from the group on yahoo. Also, there was some sort of negative energy that came onto me at that time that psychics said I was giving off and one of them said the energy was so strong that it attacked him and said it came from me.
Even though all of that stuff happened, I never went back to those sites and ceased all contact with the members. I ended up talking to another psychic on that same site who was talking about how Lucifer never actually became evil and that he never thought he was better than God. I was talking to him about all of that and it seemed to fit like some sort of belief that was in my head about him. He also mentioned that Lucifer isn't evil and is still a great angel very close with God and he comes into our subconscious to try to test our faith to God and see if we remain loyal to him. Basically the psychic said he volunteered to be able to test people to see if they can overcome difficult things and still look up to God without giving up.
I think this story can be kinda linked with a story in Job, not so sure of chapter or verses, but it was about how Lucifer wanted to take everything away from Job to see if he still remained loyal to God and he did.
I just feel that this whole thing the psychic told me fits well with how I see this relationship of Lucifer and God. I just hope that I'm not going down the wrong path even though it feels so right.
A few questions now. I guess I'm kinda in the middle of both sides, the paranormal/psychic side of things and the Christian side of things. My great aunt who claims to talk with God, says things that I really don't think he would say because basically it sounds like hatred. Like how he told her that people will start viewing homosexuality as a sin again and that they are the cause of the messed up weather patterns and some other things not necessarily related with that stuff. She also claimed to see many "evil spirits" such as a human with a dog's head come into her house and had to say the name Jesus 8 times to get rid of it. Could this have been just really a messed up spirit not necessarily associated with Lucifer? Like could there be evil or messed up spirits just there and not controlled by him and that they created their own evil? Also, would God really say that stuff to my aunt even though I know many psychics who claim to talk to God and say that he does not say stuff like that? If it wasn't God she was talking to, who was it?
Don't get me wrong. My family is in tune with the spiritual side of things in a sense I think particularly the women. My grandma and mom were both psychics. My great aunt, the reverend who is my grandma's sister was not a psychic but could see things in the spiritual realm. My grandma was a psychic and did readings for people up until basically she passed away over 7 years ago. My mom was a psychic and wrote a dream book but stopped that stuff when she claimed to see Jesus' face in a coffee cup she was reading. My aunt thinks that psychics are that of Satan and are evil. Notice how I used the term Satan and not Lucifer. Just about all Christians who refer to Lucifer call him the devil or Satan but not Lucifer. Is that some sort of significance necessarily? When I was visiting the Satanist site, it seems that the Satanist beliefs are that of exactly opposite of God's beliefs. Could that really just be messed up spirits who have this turmoil built up trying to persuade other people to become messed up? Could it be from Lucifer trying to test us to see how many people would be loyal to this "Satan" rather than God?
Another tangent, I went to a pentecostal church for awhile and don't get me wrong they seem very spiritual especially since they believe in the Holy Spirit and it can enter people and some of the members have seen angels in the church before. I have witnessed this because some of them would pass out and then come up and be speaking in a totally different language passing on blessings to other people. However, they believe hatred stuff particularly about homosexuality and believe that the Bible is 100% true. Could it be that my aunt and these people who are in tune with the spiritual realm may be so highly influenced with the religion itself that their views on what they receive from that realm misinterpreted to only fit into their personal characteristics? I know it's kinda long but hopefully you will read the whole thing. I probably should learn to condense things better.
