Talking with your body

I just tried this meditation today and it is very interesting as I got immediate response.

Your body posseses wisdom and usually knows what it needs.
So wanted to share this with you

Go and sit in a comfortable position with your feet on the ground. Lay your hands on your upper legs. Greet your body and say you love it, that you are grateful for all the things it's doing for you.
Then start to ask questions

What does it need? Are you eating too much? Too little? What food does it need? Does it have enough water? Minerals and vitamins?

Maybe it needs more rest.. exercise. These are all questions to consider.

I will share my conversation with mine now:

What do you need?

-More water
- Eat reguraly

I think you need more fruits and vegetables, am I correct?

-Yes

What do you want me to do for you?

-Take care of me!
-Listen!

What's the best way to listen to you?

-Respond to my needs. Rest if you need to

It seems quite easy to talk to you. I can see we have a connection.

-Yes, but listen!

Nicely put Rainbowimagination.

Many spend so much time on the outer body - clothing and makeup and primping and preening and colouring hair that we forget to really listen to our true body. The organs are all taken for granted.

This is something that I am leanring thru yin yoga. It is a floor poses only based yoga, where you sit into a pose (sometimes i feel like a pretzel) for a good 5 minutes whilst always breathing deeply in thru the nose and out thru the mouth making a sound similar to the waves of the ocean.  Each pose has a connection to releasing toxics and clearing main body parts. For eg connecting to liver and gall bladder to clear and turn on, so it can get circulation and energy thur it.

I am absolutely loving it, as you say the body has much wisdom. I think more and more as a society we will move from the masculine based yang style yogas (hatha, vinyasa) to the yin based (yoga nidra and yin). Or maybe a good balance of both.
