God is spirit but not as we understand spirit. He isnt a spirit which you can wrap a finite mind around, how can the finite explain the infinite? In the tao te ching and the anelects of confucious its says that ' those who speak do not know, and those who know do not speak.' Undestanding God is a personal journey, a very intimate one, and if you DO gain an understanding of him how do you put that into words when the words do not exist within our world? Look within ourselves and we find his fingerprint, (You cant create without leaving a fingerprint) the electromagnetic energy that flows through and animates ALL life.

Look at the creation story; when he seperated man from woman it was because it wasnt 'good' for US to be alone. Man was created from 'soil'; woman was created  or 'built' the hebrew says with 'flesh and blood' i.e., the rib or bone, and like, for instance, a can of blue paint, if it were possible to remove the color you would still leave a 'remnant' within each; male/female, yin/yang. "As deep calls to deep..."

Whats true of us is not true of him, His name is Abba-Jehovah;Father/El Shaddai; The many breasted one/Mother. He is complete in himself, as we were in the absolute beginning, in his likeness. He is both mother AND father complete and quintessential.

Sorry God is not somone you can sum up in one sentence except to say that he is love and spirit and to know him you have to know him through that place. Embarrassed

I also believe in the energy of God, but my personal feeling of God seems to differ so radically from any church I have ever been too that I get confused or just want to argue or walk out.  I'm very comfortable with my beliefs and think that if everyone would just have faith in thier own relgion and quit knocking everyone elese, it would be a much better life.  What is this business that if you don't believe the way I do you are wrong!  There many paths to heven.

I too have problems with religious bigotry, yet i do believe that the only way to eternity is through the blood of Jesus Christ. That doesnt mean you can FORCE that understanding on people, you have to come to this place on your own, therin lies 'doing all with grace, mercy, and love. I have found that there are many roads to 'the gate' but only one way in. Its the grace, the love, the understanding of the journey, the wisdom along the way. The wisdom I have learned shows me that not all, but many roads all lead to heaven through Jesus. Smiley
