It's quite charming, and almost poetic to think of God in that way. I like it.

I'm unsure what you mean by 12 beings of light though.

Are we one of the twelve beings sent by him? Or are they just here with us? (i.e. to guide us et cetera)
I tell people I'm an atheist, but I do believe in something. Not a conscious deity(s), something more inert. If that makes sense. Like I said before, I really like how you describe God. However, when you say things like "God chose" and "God's purpose in mind" it highlights were my beliefs in what God is deviate. I don't even like the word God to describe what I believe in.
It doesn't make sense to me, how a God, whom sends these spirits. Whom extends us the burden of this world, because he knows we can take it? I can't believe it. The idea of a conscious loving God is crazy to me. If God employed such a high degree of control over the universe, he'd have to be willful, capricious, malicious and evil. A God who stands by while children scream in agony from bone cancer. I don't want to believe in a God like that.
You put into words what I've always had trouble articulating to people. That we're extensions of God, regardless of what you think God is. We're children of the universe, and everything we need can be found from within us.
Sorry, I tend to ramble on a bit. I'll stop now.

All zee best!
