Few tarot questions from a beginner.
10/24/11 at 11:13:57

Hi, I've just started to get into tarot, I have bought a deck, Clensed it with salt water and smudge (to every card) and then charged it by putting it in order.  I am now looking to actually learn tarot now, and I read something online that was saying i should try and get to know my tarot first, so I've been trying to look up numerology, what elements they are associated with (not sure why thats important for a reading), and searching on google for random card meanings, like I will draw a card and look online for what it means... I also read somewhere that I should try and get my own meaning out of the cards...  Anyways your suggustions and help are much appreciated.

I would like to know of some excersizes that will help a beginner such as myself so I can get to the point where I can start to do reads, I feel doing reads would probably be the best way to learn, However I am aware it will take a while to get to the reading point, so If anyone has good excersizes/meditations that would be great Cheesy

It sounds like you have done the right thing. Tarot are very deep and to be honest if you look at all the different meanings and spreads it can be a bit daunting.

My advice is to practice on friends at first. Just to get your confidence.
Is there a book with them ?
To show you the meanings.
Learning them online is good there are some great resources out there which show the meanings of cards and learn about them.

I have never looked at the numerology side of it but as i say the tarot is very deep and every card has a number.

Its what works for you.
The more you practice the better you get.
When you look at the cards and know what they mean there is a way of tuning in.

Being open grounded and protected is the best way to read them. Relaxed and meditated. Chakras cleansed grounding and protecting too. Defiantly work with your guides too.
They give me my extra information.

But one step at a time.

Just get the cards then you get your meanings book for what they mean and practice on a friend.
The rest will just come.
I am not the only reader on here and i am sure there are others that can give you different advice but its how i started.
Learn what they mean use the book for reference at first till you feel comfortable working without it.

Practice and then you will flow..... its not what the cards mean it is what comes with them.
I use the cards as a tool to see. Everyone is different.
Enjoy your journey with them!

Way back when i had a life i had time to teach on here have a look at this link.
some of the cards were from photobucket so not there any more... this was before we had our own photo forums.
Photos stay on here !!

But there is a lot of info here that i done my self Smiley
With Evies help of course  Wink
