INTUITIVE HANDS ON SELF TREATMENT.

First of all you MUST perform HATSUREI and connect to Reiki.

This is a simple approach to self healing, involving no resting of your hands in different parts of your body, it can involve some visualization though.
The standard hand positions are as follows.

1. Front of forehead along the hairline, with your hands held with fingertips touching each other in the mid-line and your palms facing each other.

2. Hands hovering by the temples.

3. One hand cupping the back of the head, with the other hand resting on the forehead.

4. Both hands at the back of neck/base of skull, the thumbs are joined from the tips to the base, pointing upwards, the rest of the palm and fingers, gently curve around the side of the base of the skull/upper neck.

5. Rest both hand on the crown, overlapping each other.

Now, sit comfortably in a chair and close your eyes.

Imagine a carbon copy of you sitting in front of you, maybe on the floor with its back towards you.

Imagine that you are treating yourself, by resting your imaginary hands working in the series of positions I described to you before.


Imagine yourself holding each imaginary hand positions for about 5-6 minutes.

While holding each hand position, focus on imagining yourself channeling Reiki through your hands into the imaginary you that is sitting in front of you.

ALTERNATIVE APPROACHES.

Imagine that the "real" you is being treated by a carbon copy, with the carbon copy standing behind you in your imagination.

Imagine that you are being treated bu "disembodied hands".

Do not visualize anything, simply follow your attention to rest or dwell on those five areas of your head, the energy will follow your focus and focus itself where your attention is directed.

As you carry out any of these approaches, you may well "feel" hands on your head in some or more of the positions, or heat or tingling or pressure.
This is normal, you may even feel that there is a bit of a headache in a particular position and that the headache eases when you move to another position, again, this is not a problem.
The second suggestion demonstrates to us that if you find it difficult to visualize, you do not need to worry because Reiki will still work for you, your visualization may develop with practice, but you can simply "intend" that the energy is passing into you in those various positions, and it will do so, without you having to visualize clearly.

WHY THESE PARTICULAR HAND POSITIONS ?

These hand movements (facing as opposed to away from you) are MUDRAS from a specific BODDHISATTVA, a senior disciple of the BUDDHA who was renowned for his healing abilities, someone called  BINZURU.
These hand positions are invoking the healing powers of the BINZURU at an unconscious level.

ADVANTAGES of SELF TREATMENT MEDITATION.

One big advantage of the self-treatment meditation, is that it is something you can do anywhere, on a train, bus as a passenger in a car.
If you don't have the 25 - 30 minutes to do the full meditation, then just cut down on the amount of time you spend with each imaginary hand movement,. but DO go through the full sequence of five.

RELEASING EXERCISE.
Here is a exercise that you can practice on a regular basis, say once a week, it gives the first two precepts an "energetic edge" by allowing Reiki to help us release anger and worry that are hindering us from being content in the moment.
This is not a practice that has come from Usui Sensei's system, this is something that Taggart King (Reiki Master and Teacher) has developed himself.

STAGE 1.

Sit comfortably in your chair with your eyes closed and you hands resting on your lap, palms up.

Take a few long deep breaths and feel yourself becoming peaceful and relaxed, your mind empties.

Say to yourself "I now release all my anger ... " say this three times to yourself.
Allow energy to be released through your palms, and be still until the flow of energy subsides (this may take a little while) particularly the first time you try it.

STAGE 2

Now say to yourself "I now release all my worry ... " say this three times, again, allow a flurry of energy leave your hands and be still until it subsides, again, this may take a little time.

Alternatively, try carrying out the releasing exercise in time with your breath, breathe in gently, say to yourself "I now release all my anger/worry..."and then breathe out, allowing you anger to flood out of you in your breath, again, repeat this three times.

This is as far as I can take you, next week we will be seeing how each of you are getting on with the energy balls, your Harsurei and your self treatments.
REMEMBER ... you CANNOT heal anyone but yourself, there is a lot more to learn before you can do that, meditations, mantra's dedications to name but a few.

When I meditated and ask my guides to help me not be so tired and angry, I felt a huge amount of energy come out of my palms. I read this just after, and it explains why I was feeling that. I think before I develop my clairaudience I am going to focus more on reiki. Have to heal myself before I can help others.

Oh, I started to cry when meditating, is that normal? I started feeling a release little more each breath, but had to stop because I was in the living room and people came over.

Oh one more question, I don't feel like I can be grounded and meditate upstairs.. I feel like I don't have a very strong  connection. Is there anything I can do to help?

Yes the crying is normal. You are releasing old unneeded pains and hurts from you past. As you continue to focus on self healing you may notice the release of the negative energies and thought processes as well as any blockages within you chakra system. Sometimes it will be an emotional release and at other time during Reiki you may actually feel the blockages shoot down and out your legs and arms as it is being released.
