Chat is a wonderful place for members to get to  know one another, trade hugs, share paranormal experiences and connect with Members who freely offer readings.   There is a casual and warm atmosphere thanks to the loving regular members and friendships are growing everyday.

The few minutes this takes  may possibly answer questions that newcomers have on their first visit here and offers insight on how the site works, especially if you are either looking for a reading, or desiring to practice. The following rules and guidelines are in place to provide a high quality discussion environment for our members and guests, to prevent disruption and maintain a  friendly & safe environment for all.

Basic chat etiquette:
* Choose a username that is NOT offensive or sexually suggestive. Please do not use an email or site address as a user name. Choose a username and stick with it... if a change is necessary inform A MODerator.
* Don't use ALL CAPITOL LETTERS IN YOUR TEXT. Not only is this difficult to read, on the internet it is considered shouting.  
* Your arrival will be announced on the screen. Assuming that there is an ongoing discussion started it is polite to wait a short while to catch the drift of the current conversation, or receive welcoming messages. This courtesy is 'expected' in ALL the readings rooms ( Akasha's, Development & PRACTICE and PSYCHIC Members readings rooms) where interrupters will be silenced by MODerators.

* Be polite and civil to other chat room users at all times. Mods will monitor language and will halt conversations that are defamatory, obscene/indecent, hateful, discriminatory or inflammatory. Do not be rude, insulting, offensive, snide, obnoxious or abusive towards other members.

The chat rooms can be for serious debates or lighthearted and playful. Do not hesitate to shift to another room if a topic doesn't interest you or makes you feel uncomfortable. Personality conflicts may occur, please do not let a dislike of one person affect your stay with us. IGNORE is also a viable and mature option. Please do not air personal grievances in the public channel.

NO NO's:  
In case of dispute regarding a guests/members behavior, the following list will be referred to when cautions, warnings, bans are issued.

NO...  Readings by visitors or guests. Only registered and actively participating Members are granted permission to PRACTICE readings on site. Please see  Development and PRACTICE room  "terms of use"  Please understand that this rule has to be enforced; if we permitted anybody and everybody to practice readings here, the site itself would lose credibility.

NO Multiple ID's. One username please. You are responsible that your password is kept confidential.    
NO Role-playing/lying/impersonation. Conversations must not be misleading or deceptive. Many come here looking for help; deliberate deceptions are a waste of our time.

NO spamming:
*Recruitment: Do not recruit site visitors or members with invitations to join other web sites, forums or groups. Personal, or otherwise. "Poaching" members is unacceptable.
*Advertising: advertising or promoting other web sites, and or offering services or products for sale is a strictly forbidden.  (1 warning only)
* For privacy and as a safety precaution we will discourage posting email addresses etc in the main channel. ABT is not accountable for conflicts that occur between members Off-site.
* * NOTE: registered members  do have the option of inserting a URL link to their sites and email addresses in their profile via the User CP. This link is clearly visible on ones profile page, the members list, as well under every post on the forums and is the ONLY acceptable advertising on the site.  

NO Illegal material: absolutely no discussions meant to cause incitement to commit or promote a crime.  This includes discussing taking, buying or selling drugs, the sale or promotion of weapons, hacking, pirated software/movies/music, or promoting or encouraging violence of any kind.  

NO Preaching: Discussing religion and beliefs is acceptable. However DO NOT attempt to convert or push religious beliefs onto others, we ask that all beliefs be respected.

NO Racism or hatred: Do not post racist or views which express hatred towards or discriminate against any specific race, religion, country, gender, individual or group.

NO Harassment: Do not harass, defame, threaten, bully or victimize other members, this includes private messages. Publicly arguing is not permitted.

NO Profanity, kink. Sexual innuendos (aka known as flirting to be in PRIVATE only. Thanks) We are a community with members that range in age from teens - Grannies. Please have respect and do not use profanity, crude or vulgar language.  

NO Trolling/Flamebaiting:  A 'troll' is someone who's purpose is to intentionally create disruption, provoke, bait and offend members for personal amusement. Trolls who verbally abuse, attack, embarrass, or threaten in the chat room will be banned. Please DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS ~ No matter what they might say to you.  If a MODerator is not present, please please please use the IGNORE option, and report the users name.  

NO Pestering for Psychic readings: We do not promote repetitive reading requests, psychic addiction or continuing dependency.  (AKA Psychic Junkies) Repeated requests for readings will be met with a simple No.

NO Self-harm or Suicide Chat: Please understand that No one here is 'qualified'  to deal with this. This rule is also enforced to protect members who are grieving such a loss. You will be directed to Please consult with a medical professional immediately  Volunteer Emotional Support Helplines & Suicide Hotlines


Blue Icons   = Member or guest
RED Icons      = Moderators
GREEN Icons = Moderator/teachers  or a temporary guest speaker
Yellow Icons   = Moderator in Text-controlled chatrooms.


BANNED ?
The above rules are standard for  chat rooms, and with due respect are easy to abide by. Moderators are NOT chosen because they would enjoy the power to silence, kick or ban. Moderators are chosen for their known abilities to be patient, openminded/tolerant and non-judgmental.  However, Moderators are human and  baiting the MOD's, being argumentative or challenging about the rules isn't going to create a positive atmosphere, for anyone.        

Silenced/warning The Moderator who takes this action will Private Message you with an appropriate warning or explanation. Please Do not ignore this...
Kicked ... suggests you didn't heed the warning.  It is privilege to be here, not a right. Please do not consider returning if unwilling to be in compliance with the rules and expectations. Immediate returns, with attitude, will be met with a second warning, or depending on individual circumstances, a possible Banning.  
BANNED Contact Evie if you wish to appeal. If you were informed via PM, by a Moderator that a 24 hour BAN is forthcoming, wait for 24 hours before attempting to return.  

Important:
Please DO NOT use the public channel to criticize or complain about a Moderators actions, discuss member bans or encourage protests against any actions by staff or administration. If you disagree with an action taken by a member of staff, issues must be addressed privately in chat PM's or the forum private messaging system,  or alternately contact administration. Assuredly, admin takes a serious look at all complaints. DO NOT use the forum boards to address personal complaints, or carry on a public argument with a member or staff.
